I know, ANOTHER goldpoints thread. However, this is on a different tack, and I didn't think it would get looked at if it were buried among the other 100+ page threads

.
I had points deducted and called in to inquire why. I was told that the points were deducted because the total # of points awarded didn't match up to my total purchase amount. Apparently what ValueMags sent over was a mistake on one of my orders of -$60. So now we're in the process of correcting that and as soon as ValueMags sends over a corrected number the points will post.
Now, here's the bigger picture. I think they are trying to rectify this as quickly as possible. However it appears they are CREDITING, REVIEWING and then AUDITING EACH AND EVERY ACCOUNT BY HAND! They have a HUGE mileage liability here and I can understand why they'd want to limit their exposure as much as possible. I believe that only the ValueMags people are going through this and this is NOT 'business as usual' at GoldPoints. Then again, our transactions weren't exactly business as usual either, were they? IMHO eventually we'll all get our points. But, we're going to have to be patient, and we're going to have to realize that their CSRs may not even know exactly what's going on. IMHO some decisions are being made from above that the CSRs don't know about and what they are telling us will happen is what WOULD happen were these 'normal' Goldpoints accounts. Now that my account has been audited, I would expect the points to start transferring and was told that they should move either this weekend or the next. If they don't, I'll call back and ***** again!
