A beautiful resort - where they are giving it their all!
I have read every single post on this thread...I am at the Hyatt Ziva right now on a family vacation.
Here is a full overview of what's going on at Hyatt Ziva.
First, after reading how the first several days went, they are making progress every day and getting more and more polished in running a smooth operation.
The grounds are beautiful and will continue to mature. The staff's attitude is fantastic, with everyone pitching in and lending a helping hand. Everyone working here prides themselves to go above and beyond to make their guests happy.
Their motto of "service from the heart" is evident at every venue throughout the resort.
Seems like all activities and services are now fully operational. Lots of fun water activities, including aerobics, bicycles in the water, poolside music, ping-pong, cabanas that are huge and really comfortable, swim up bars, water basketball, water polo, afternoon bingo, beach watersports, and much more.
For kids their is an activity center that offers loads of games and fun stuff to ensure there is something for everyone.
The food venues are varied and plentiful with lots of choices for every appetite and overall the quality of the food is extremely high, especially for an all inclusive.
I visited ChoiceZ three times today and observed every meal they serves and across three meals, there were over 100 options.
At breakfast, they have a freshly squeezed juice bar with orange juice, watermelon, guava, honeydew juice, and lettuce juice (cannot say I ever saw that one before - its got a hint of ginger to cut the bitterness , real healthy way to start your day with some roughage). You will find a great assortment of fresh and homemade pastries, with yogurts and dry toppings, as well as great hot food, with made-to-order omelettes as well as pancakes, waffles and french toast. Even a toppings bar for those high carb but delicious breakfast items. I cannot imagine you not finding what you are looking for at this high-end buffet. And, they are set up to accommodate large influx of guest here, knowing its one of the top venues for dining and especially breakfast. I think they serve until 11am too so if you sleep in you are still able to get breakfast.
As for lunch - you are in a for a real treat when visiting "Ovan" pronounced OOO Vannnn the Jerk Chicken expert. This is the absolute best chicken I have ever had in my life. So moist with the most amazing sauces and every day - he has some great sides - today was Jamaican sweet potatoes, just a really cool venue right on the beach.
The beach for Ziva is now in great shape - with cleared out seaweed and beautiful shallow water that has a rock wall area so kids of all ages can enjoy - unlike some resorts where you have to navigate big waves or you can't swim on rough days, not the case here - this is a real treat that Ziva offers. The ocean temperature is probably around 83 degrees, just delightful.
For dinner, loads of great options, varied Italian menu with Brick Oven pizzas, a super Asian restaurant called FuZion which has lots of options, including wok stir fry, a-la-carte options or a habachi set-up with kebobs of all varieties.
There is a great coffee bar that has fun little snacks too.
The service around the pool is terrific as someone is always there asking if you want a nice cold drink.
All the drinking water at the resort is filtered too.
With all I mention herein - there is really no reason anyone shouldn't be able to come to Hyatt Ziva now and have a terrific stay that is filled with fun, and lots of great options to enjoy your stay.
Are there some growing pains and minor things you will likely notice still? Yes, there certainly are, but everyday the team here is working hard to improve - its a work in progress but not one that should prohibit you from having a terrific time.
The training of the staff here is just terrific with smiles all over, no matter what happens. Any time anything goes wrong, you will get a heartfelt apology, and that goes a long way.
