posted this somewhat off topic in the TP run thread:
Hotels at DUB: there are 2 within walking distance, several hundred metres so it's not entirely convenient with a lot of luggage, there are bus shuttles for that. Radisson Blu (£80ish) and the Maldron (£60ish), which use to be the Carlton. These will be more expensive if rugby or the GAA have something going at the same time. There is a basic guesthouse called Glenmore House, and a Premier Inn further off, which will be cheaper but then you need do factor in transfer costs. I've not stayed in either of these two places. Also further off is the other Carlton, Hilton, Holiday Inn, so you should be able to get a good price somewhere.
The taxi fares there aren't massive and the Premier Inn has a shuttle bus service, but there's likely to be waiting since it's only twice an hour, and there's a €1 or so nominal charge for it. Other hotels have free or cheap shuttles.
