I think you're asking if you would be able to do a
stopover (e.g., KOA-HNL <stopover> HNL-OGG) on the same one-way award redemption. No, you can't do that in your scenarios.
Whether it's worth it to redeem depends, I think, on whether you're trying to save cash or whether you have the budget to pay for the flights and would rather save the miles for something else.
