I do as well -- my flights are mostly to the Southeast (South Carolina) so most of my BIS miles are via Delta/ATL or DTW. Alaska pricing to destination cities served only via partners is not remotely competitive so as much as I'd like to fly SEA-ATL on AS and ATL-GSP on DL, it's never been a possibility as I pay for my own travel. International flights (paid) have been on DL and KL...seems like DL will fall off that list as well. My upgrade rate on AS has been quite good on the West Coast/DEN (and BLI-HNL) but non-existent TCON. That being said, I have no problem flying coach--getting the exit row helps with that!
I occasionally route via DFW on AA--although I prefer coach on DL, their war with AS has made it pretty clear that flyers like me are not terribly welcome. Being able to credit to AS on (now) US flights to CLT would be a game-changer to me! (Better yet--AS nonstop SEA-CLT!)
I've only booked reward travel domestically on AS, and only as an emergency. Have had great service and no problems dealing with AS staff and I would always choose AS wherever possible and price competitive.
