Pretty sure they have fixed the fully refundable ticket trick --
"Fly & Buy Miles purchased with a ticket that is later refunded will be subject to additional fees at the standard rate of 2.75 cents per mile plus applicable taxes"
It only took two business days for my spg to transfer last week, I sent in a request to have 20k spg points converted to miles on Monday and it was in my Alaska air account on Wednesday.
