1000 nights for Lifetime Diamond at Hilton wouldn't surprise me, but if it's around 700-800 nights, that would be more akin to what I'm expecting.
SPG has only two main status levels (there are extra variations on the top level, but those are not available in lifetime form), while Hilton and Mariott each have three. I would thus think Marriott is the chain with lifetime status that's most comparable in number of properties, number of brands, and number of members to Hilton. But whether than means that Hilton will look to Marriott more than SPG or Hyatt for ideas, that I don't know.
