I am new to this forum and I some questions about the availability of Business Class Seats on BA when using Avios Points. I am not a Executive Club Member, but American Express is offering a 40% premium to members that transfer Membership Reward Points to BA Avios (Executive Club) before January 15, 2015.

I need to understand the likely availability of BA Business Class Avios Award seats for a non-Elite Executive Club Member between Bahrain and the USA (Chicago, Orlando, Tampa or Miami). Are there "Saver" versus "Standard" rate award inventory for frequent flyer seats on BA ? Also, can someone explain to me the approximate fuel surcharges on BA award travel ? Also does the British Business Class Tax apply to transit flights ?

I guess my inquiry could be summed up by asking, can you really redeem BA Avios Points for Business Class seats between Bahrain and the USA ?
