TSA must have supervisor sign log. You go thru FULL security (secondary/patdown). Then you are free to roam around the terminal.

If all the stars align, it could be 20 minutes. The one time I did it, it was well over an hour because it took the TSA supervisor 45 minutes to respond.

If i was going to do it again, i would book an award reservation, go thru pre-check with the boarding pass, then cancel it before flight departs,( since I can do that with no penalties.)
