I am considering 3 avenues to retain oneworld status
1. Fly the PMO-NYC with two real BA legs and then
1a: ask BA to waive the other 2 legs required (on the basis that I will have already booked another 2/3 flights on IB/BA by then)
1b. failing that, try to scoop 2 more between Jan and March (with a return to London for example)
Are you planning on stopping in LON on your way to NYC? If yes, and you can stay for an extra day in LON, you can easily have a intra-UK side trip, like LHR-MAN-LHR on a separate ticket.
Also, there are some BA flights operating in the Caribbean, aggregate cost of taking those (including positioning) is likely to be comparable to an RT to LON though.
