The answer depends slightly on your plans beyond the HNL trip.

If your plans include more premium cabin travel than before, a switch to BA might lead to faster track to elite FFP levels. The reference to Silver leads me to thinking this is CW (?) If this is the solo trip outside paid coach, get the Silver lining if other travel make you requalify for PLT, if not stick with AA.

Contrary to implications, you will have AC access on both ways of international travel.
