You could ask for some Q credits (maybe 25) which can be used for lounge access, excess baggage, or are enough for a o/w upgrade from the UK-DOH. This should cost QR bascially nothing as it's all subject to spare capacity, and can't be used on partners.

Without knowing the issues you experienced, it's not easy to say what good compensation is. But 5K miles is faily useless, especially on such a low balance account.

I'm fairly sure that transferring miles between programs is bascially impossible, save for pairs like BA and IB.
