Seriously, I don't have an issue with the comfort of a CRJ-700, but it remains an easily & oft-cancelled UX offering, and for that reason, cannot be considered "first class" regardless of other amenities.
Anyone who regularly uses SFO knows that, when WX hits, which can be fog, a light rain, maybe somebody outside misting plants... UX flights are the first to go.
You mean a 43 minute flight with no drink or food service in a CRJ-700 isn't first class enough for you? You better get a PDB because that's the only service you're getting! In fact, I propose a game: predict whether or not the pre-departure beverage service percentage is higher than the flight's cancellation rate.
All kidding aside, I agree, it's not really much of a first class, though it's a big step up from the CRJ-200 comfort level. I was just curious to see the last time MRY had a flight with F inventory, regardless of our opinion of said F product. I wonder what the computers will propose as a TOD upgrade offer.
In the end, I hope it sticks. A crj-700 is infinitely better than what I was expecting when I heard this news, so yay for that. It's still fun to get upgraded even if it is for such a short segment.
