Like I said before, I am not entirely sure I would automatically select an upper deck seat if flying in Y. I am often in a rush to connect to another flight (if into DOH) or catch a train (if into LHR). The first section of Y on the main deck either side of the main stairs should be as quiet (if not quieter) and would probably allow for a swifter disembarkation.
I am flying on the A380 later this month (upper deck Y as I have a long connection in DOH) so will report back afterwards.
