So here's what I wrote in Nice but it didn't post:

The ground handling (aviva partner) guy couLd change it provided I paid their airport fee of 80 euros, so I decided to try calling ba. After being on hold for an hour and speaking to 3 people I got cut off, tried again and got through to the same person in 20 minutes (do they only have one person there). They won't show any leniency despite the problems on Friday and I need to buy a new ticket. Some of the stuff that happened on Friday I'd previously decided not to put in here (like hearing a crew member on our flight thank the captain for going out of hours; I'd already told the gate agent at Heathrow), I sat there for hours not knowing what was happening, going through security multiple times (flight was cancelled and then reinstated) and eventually went to gatwick on a coach! And they are not prepared to move my flight 5 hours in return. Makes you realise why some people have the eye for an eye mentality.

I booked an rfs online so am on the flight and will write to executive club, feel they should have done this one for me....

Rfs was ticketed through the app at 1247 for a 1355 flight, so definitely works up to an hour before..

END OF PRE FLIGHT RANT

And then boarding started:
-used fast track lane at same time as general boarding
-told purser on board who initially told me it wasn't his problem and I should contact airport
-asked for comments form from another member of staff
-purser came and saw me after take off to say that he mentioned it to the airport team but ba (like all other airlines ) has no say in airport matters
-I said it was ground handling not airport but quite frankly I'd run out of energy by then (and I alReady submitted my comments to ba online about his attitude)
-came up to me at the end of the flight and said he would report to exec club so they would follow up

I guess he tried to make it right in the end , but "not my department" really frustrates me. Like I said to him when he came to talk to me, all he had to do was say thanks for letting him know and write it in his flight report (which he ended up doing in the end anyway)

Other than that bit of drama, I'm safely home now...

Thanks to cws, I didn't realise I could book avios flights on the phone and once I found the option was easy!
