If your original economy booking class was mileage eligible, then I would follow-up for mileage credit. I have an upcoming trip on MH booked in H (MH flex fare) which will give me exactly the 40 Tier Points I need for BA Silver this year. I'm nervous about doing the MHUpgrade as I've read that some have experienced problems with miles and TP crediting. I sent MHUpgrade an e-mail and this is their response:
"Dear kwpinwdc,
Thank you for your interest in our latest upgrade programme, MHupgrade.
You are correct, if your offer is successfully upgraded the miles will only be awarded for the original booking class, which is the Economy class. You will not accrue any miles for the upgraded Business Class portion.
