Now that you mention it, that's correct. A NEXUS/GE card can be used at land crossing into the US in the regular lanes if in a non-SENTRI vehicle.

Of course, the practical net effect is the same as non-NEXUS/GE - long waits in the regular line without any additional benefit (besides not needing to carry a passport).
