The reported (but unpublished) limit for USA-issued accounts is four credit cards. In addition you may hold an unspecified number of charge cards (Green, Gold, Platinum, Centurion).

Amex network cards issued by other banks are irrelevant for these purposes. The Costco card is issued by American Express, and counts against the limit. The Fidelity card is issued by Bank of America, and does not.
