I would do #1 for the shorter time, ease and option to grab an exit row in DEN if you don't get it in JAX. Weather delays happen everywhere but that is a total crapshoot without a crystal ball otherwise airlines would simply avoid servicing certain airports from November to April.

Perhaps book both on points and cancel one as you get close?
