Missed my outbound flight by 10 minutes this morning due to Uber not showing up and nightmare traffic. A competent, compassionate, and courteous agent rebooked me with no fees. Things here at SFO seem very close to normal and restaurants are open in the 'new' UA terminal despite the ongoing strike.

The routing that had space was not showing up in SHARES and the best option SHARES could offer was flying tomorrow. Following the advice shared here, I already searched all possible alternatives and when I suggested one that wasn't showing up, the agent was able to grab it. Good reminder to know what you want before asking for help and not rely on SHARES algorithms to determine options. She had to get on phone presumably for an exception but the overall process was fast. About 10-15 minutes total including segment in OAL. I am grateful it was possible to do this, and without any fees.
