Ode to the Secret (Winter) Phrase.
On a cold, cold, cold winter day,
With snow and wind making such a fright.
we were lost, lost, lost from our way,
seeking a warm comfortable home for the night.
When what did appear, but a Kimpton Hotel!
Sitting there glowing and melting the snow.
Inside was laughter, warmth and cheer,
and we knew immediately where to go.
So we turned and trudged, making our way,
to the clean, well-lighted place,
that was clearly the end of the day,
for weary, cold travelers tired from the race.
In the lobby, the attendants came quickly,
to lift and take our bags with a smile.
We streched and flexed and looked around ourselves,
at what would now be our home for a while.
Warmed and recharged, to the counter we marched,
Nervous but happy to seek our respite.
We presented our our credentials, stated our names,
And were accepted with a room for the night.
Warm woolen mittens!
We cried with delight,
As we presented our hands,
as we knew was our right.
Then promptly, to our wonder, did appear,
A coupon for warm winter cheer.
It promised a beverage, if enter we would,
the lounge to seek, perhaps, a beer.
So to the bar, we promptly did march,
to be confident, warm and smug by the fire.
And a toast to Bill Kimpton we did then offer,
for the hotel chain, he did inspire.
