That's because I didn't even look for the J lounge and just stayed in the Premium / F section and had assumed the presence of a lift meant it was upstairs....but further research does indeed indicate it is downstairs from the F / Premium lounge - sorry for that!!

I don't know about the rules from the Premium vs. J section but the premium section was pretty much empty. On boarding I noticed the only other people in the premium lounge area were also travelling F...

I appreciate that is anecdotal but makes me think a Gold travelling Y would be downstairs.
