Just so people understand, Just saying someone speaks "Chinese" does not mean someone else who speaks "Chinese" will understand them. There are many dialects and someone who speaks Mandarin probably won't understand someone who speaks Cantonese. So just because there is a "Chinese" speaking FA doesn't necessarily mean the OP's mother will understand them. So the suggestion to write a sheet with your mothers dialect on one side and the English translation in the other column is probably the best idea. Most of the "Chinese" speaking FA's speak Mandarin so if your mother is from Hong Kong she may not understand unless she is multi dialect capable.
