I was crosschecking the data, from my company internal website, really accurate and the expert flyer. On company's website the flight is completely full, actually overbooked by 5, on expert flyer it says there are still 15 vacant seats. How is that possible?
Hi John Drogo. Welcome to Flyertalk and the BA board in particular! Let's hope that, as an airline insider, this is the first of many posts. I'm sure you'll learn a lot of valuable information on here and will, in time, also have a lot to contribute ^

Couple of things to bear in mind when you're looking at Expert Flyer -

1) It's important to ensure that you have the correct point of sale, as availability differs by market. You can choose between US and UK on the search page;

2) Expert Flyer does not give information on the number of seats available on a flight, but rather the number of seats that the airline is willing to sell. For example, there may only be 50 business class seats on a particular flight, but Revenue Management may be willing to sell 60 tickets for this cabin as they know that a lot of people cancel /change tickets at the last minute on this particular route.

Revenue Management is a dark art and not one that any of us would pretend to understand, but the chaps at BA do seem to be pretty good at it
