London-Lalibela..Addis-Cape Town
Hello everybody...
As the thread title suggests, I'd like to take the following flights from London to Ethiopia, short holiday in Ethiopia then on to South Africa.
LHR-xADD-LLI (LLI = Lalibela, served by a ET Dash-8 from Addis Ababa)
then
ADD-xJNB-CPT
I already have an onwards ticket from South Africa. This trip starts in London, goes to Ethiopia, then ends in SA.
I can book this on Travelocity.co.uk for under £800 in economy in Ethiopian Airlines (JNB-CPT sector operated by South African with an ET flight number) with a late Dec departure from London for Lalibela and then a mid-Jan departure from Addis Ababa for Cape Town.
It appears to be quite a bit cheaper to book this as a single booking rather than two separate tickets from LHR->LLI then another ticket ADD->CPT.
Simple so far then.
However, I'd like to go business class on the ADD to CPT leg. It's cheaper to book the two economy legs as a single ticket. So can I do a economy LHR-LLI and a business ADD-CPT on a single ticket for a lower total price than a separate LHR->LLI economy ticket and ADD-CPT business ticket?
Finally, Ethiopian get quite mixed reviews. Are they OK?
I'm *A Gold if that makes any difference, but my wife and 2 x children are not a member of any *A FF program.
