Saw this on the 2ch message board. Apple Japan has suspended sales of iPhones through web site and stores as of 9 Dec. If you go to the Apple Store Japan iPhone 6 page, the shipping date says 現在ご利用いただけません or unavailable now. Comments on the message board suspect Apple will be raising the prices to compensate for the weak yen.

This does not affect third party vendors like mobile carriers or electronic stores.
