Nope, award miles. It took some convincing, two 2 HUCAs, and what seemed like hours on hold for the GF UG...and I also offered to pay the extra 10k each -- but they waived it. The only seats in BF were 10D+G so I pulled out the full arsenol of a** kissing and sweet talk
Also $300 etc and 15k miles for my trouble.

It may sound like a sweet deal, but many hours (and 2 days) of my life were wasted. We had to wait hours for them to escort us out thru customs/immigration, wait for our bags, stand in line forever to get Melbourne hotel vouchers (Parkroyal, but only a $16 food credit which didn't even cover an appetizer), fly QF dom to SYD with all the usual annoyances, taxi fares and then freezing rain in Sydney, and miss 2 days of work. I deserved it for sure and I made sure they knew it.
In fact I plan to ask them to cover (reasonable) meals and taxi fares for Sydney as well. Sending in receipts.
