Dec 6's #99 MEL-LAX was cancelled just before boarding for mechanical.
Had to spend 2 days in Australia before we could get a flight out together (and sit up front). We were in the SQ lounge and never heard the announcement, (Even though the app said still on time), so everyone beat me to the 1K phone line and booked up the earlier flights. The UA club desk was useless, and just kept telling everyone to "wait and see".
We were however able to convince them to put us in GF SYD-LAX, as well as reimburse me for The Sydney Marriott. But now that I've flown the 787-8, I'd pick Dreamliner's BF any day. That 772 was a joke, even in F.
