AS doesn't ticket internationally outside of Mexico and Canada, so they can't force you to buy thru them like UA and DL to track spend. Granted this eventually could change, but would require a sizable investment for AS to ticket internationally. Even then tracking revenue might not come to fruition for mileage purposes.
