It's a bit different if you have a non EU passport. Last time I went through (October) it took 50 min standing in line at the "fast track" line to get to the Immigration desks. The hall was rammed, and the queues extended out into the corridor. This was a 2 pm arrival from YVR.
Fortunately I took the underground walkway and avoided the transit from the B gates ( thanks C-W-S for the photo guide!) it was a bit of tranquility and I saw the people from my flight in the queue behind me when I got to the border.
