I stayed at the Metropolitan at the 9 last night.

Here's the tl;dr...Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, big comfortable room, highly recommend.

MR Platinum details:
I checked in last night before dinner. They recognized me as a Platinum Elite and thanked me for my loyalty. I was upgraded to a King Suite without having to make the request. I was offered a PAG of a $10 credit for their shops/restaurants or points, I chose points. I was offered a breakfast certificate or points, I chose points. I will share the points given once they post to my account. I know one of the allotments was 750. Also, there was no resort fee and every guest gets free WiFi. There was no premium internet option.

Hotel Lobby and staff
It's a pretty interesting blend of the historic (an old bank) and contemporary design. It was decorated for Christmas with a lit tree, probably at least 15 feet tall. Staff was welcoming. The young woman who checked me in also walked me to the elevator. They use RFID room keys which are also used to call the elevator. You select your floor from a central touch panel and it directs you to the proper elevator. Once inside the elevator you cannot change your mind, no floor buttons inside.

Hotel Room
As I mentioned in the Platinum section, I was upgraded to the King Suite. It was a very long room, but not very wide. The bathroom was closest the door. The bathroom layout was quite large. There was a big soaking tub to the right and a separate shower to the left. The toilet was in a room of its own, which I like when I'm traveling with others. I'm not sure if I had an accessible-specific room, but the shower had a folding bench, and had only a half-inch of raised tile as a lip. Water definitely breached the shower despite me trying to be careful. The shower itself had a very large "rainfall" head, and a separately controlled hand wand (didn't use). The bath towel I used was huge, loved it.

I'd say there was about a 3-4 foot space between the foot of the king bed and the vanity/mini bar/TV mount. Beyond the bed was a sectional couch. one side faced the windows (view of an office building across the street), one side faced another TV mounted above an electric faux fireplace.

Design-wise, the room felt a lot like the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas. There was an "all off" light switch near the headboard, as well as headboard lights on a dimmer. On one of the built-in nightstands, there was an A/V input panel and charging spaces. That would definitely come in handy if you wanted to stream a TV show or movie. The TV above the mini bar was 55" by my estimate.

I did not have the opportunity to visit The Vault bar, because it's only open Thursdays and weekend nights. I did, however, have the opportunity to sit in their theater on the second floor. Last night they were showing Monday Night Football on their 25 foot movie theater screen. The seats were very comfortable and had pivoting tables for food and drinks. The few people in there last night were on their work laptops while watching football (Go Pack Go).

In summary, I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting downtown Cleveland. It's in close proximity (easy walking distance) to good bars and restaurants, as well as the financial district. It's also a short walk to where the Cleveland Indians play.

I will upload some photos of the room/lobby in the next couple of days.
