As mentioned above, it all really depends on the hotel and the program policies. One of my hopes is that our hotelier partners will make it easier to apply status level awards (upgrades etc.) to bookings made through OTAs but it is going to take some work on our part and theirs to make things simpler and easier for our customers.
The good news is that our Loyalty / Rewards Team are looking into options with some larger chains which will hopefully bring greater value to both Hotel Rewards Program Members and Expedia +Rewards Program Members.

Thanks MG...I do use Expedia quite a lot. Unfortunately, as I'm Canadian, I don't benefit from the Expedia rewards program, so every little bump up helps.
