Also consider the layover time at LAX as you must haul the bag(s) over to the next airline and be within the bag check time limit. As you will emerge from customs into T6, DL will be easiest. AA (T4) a bit more walk. Anything else (WN, VX, Spirit) on the northside (T123) will be a pain to get to.
