Each airline's program is different in terms of redemption rates, fees, surcharges, and what can be booked on line. I'm pretty sure that award flights on most of US' partners cannot be booked on line.

Once the Dividend Miles program disappears next year and your miles become AAdvantage miles, you'll redeem through the AAdvantage program. About half of AA's partners can be booked on line, but about half (including LAN and its affiliates) cannot.
