Cathay is unfortunately, along with LAN, one of the slow coaches (just as US is lightning fast). It normally takes me about 5 days to credit if departing HKG and a lot longer elsewhere. I do go into the CX equivalent of Manage My Booking and make sure my BAEC number is in there (you may need to call up to get the CX reference, or find it via classic.checkmytrip.com). But to be honest I think you may just miss out on this occasion. But if the points do come through, QF, unlike CX, can see your status quickly, so you may get lucky. The First lounges of QF are certainly worth a visit, so I'm not sure if you can speed things up a bit by travelling beforehand?
