GGL Benefits - Urgent advice required as to their use

Here is something very odd. I had perfectly timed my last trip to reach 2,500 TPs a day or two before the end of my BAEC year, which occurs today, so as to qualify for my GUF2.

The first I learn of the points posting is an e-mail today (last day of my year) inviting me to nominate a GCH and 2 Silver card holders. Wondering what this is all about, I log into my BAEC and it shows - miraculously - that I am GGL at 2,500 (TPs). I am Euro based and this is my second successive year reaching 2,500 TPs, but I assume this must be some sort of mistake - or am I actually entitled to GGL ??

In any event, not knowing very much about GGL, and assuming my elevation is real, is there anything I should be doing today, as it will be lost at my year end ? For example, should I nominate people today for Gold / Silver, as I get one lot of nominations in the current year (ending today) and another lot tomorrow in my new year (assuming that I actually do renew into GGL) ?

What other rights do I get as GGL which can only be used a limited number of times during a membership year ?

One supplementary: Mrs FF99 is a humble Bronze so would be my first choice for a GCH nomination, but her BAEC year ends in a month's time. If I nominate her, will she only get the benefit for a month, or will her next renewal be into Gold ?
