I second this. As a web developer, they tend to use cookies as a part of tracking. For the most part IP address tracking is seldom used by itself, so usually in complimentary to cookies.
EDIT: I did some more study and backed off of this a bit.
A VPN is a good investment for travel too. I never trust my devices on hotel and airport connections alone anyway. Another option is to use other sites like Google Flights and ITA Matrix to search for flights first. Those should give you a general cost breakdown and allow for easy searching. Then go on Kayak or directly through Google Flights and it'll usually link you to the airlines site to the ticket you found on them.
