Not sure about BR, but CA PY is just Y seats with like 2" of extra legroom.
As for connections, they aren't great in PEK, but I've never had problems.
Also for service, CA is reallly really bad. They make it up with nice adverts showing smiling cabin crew but in reality, they can't even crack a smile if you're flying in anything less than Business.
Food is dreadful too.
BR is ++ by a wide margin.
