Well, I had a personal experience (after being loyal to LH for a few years) which led me to sort of boycotting LH, and you followed other people`s beliefs, so the analogy is irrelevant.
In this case, Lufthansa is a parent of Swiss, so it probably is similar to LH (I only flown on Swiss in Economy many years ago, but after 2002, and I remember they managed to lose my bags with a pretty lengthy connection) But the fact that LH is their "parent" is the reason I resilient to give it a try.
