I was surprised when the Diamond Desk didn't show it as existing the other day. I've never actually stayed there, but it was what I needed that night. Then the next day I drove past, and all signage was already down off the building and from the big display sign near the Thruway. I couldn't tell for certain whether it was otherwise open or not, but I believe it's either closed or closing.
The manager confirmed via a post on Trip Advisor that they were closing:

We are very sorry to confirm that our hotel wil be closing on 11/23/14.
It has been a pleasure serving our guests and we are working hard to find other locations for your upcoming reservations. Do not hesitate to call the property with any questions.
Wow, #1 of 8 Hotels in Newburgh on Trip Advisor and it is closing. The economy must really be sucky there.
