This is an important point to keep in mind. The same thing happens in other online forums (on non-FFP/travel subjects) that I belong to.

That sounds like a potential moderation issue or decision (which of course I will refrain from "discussing"), not necessarily a defect in the forum.

But even within a forum one is generally interested in, not every thread is of interest, and some threads one might wish to totally ignore. How are ID threads any different? The "junk" threads are usually pretty easy to distinguish from genuine questions just from the title or at worst a quick click on the OP. I haven't found it to be difficult to distinguishe the general types of threads, and I read and post on ID with some regularity.
