Okay, so here's how I'm working out the airline transfers:

American Airlines card: redeem for American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Alaska
United card: redeem for United, Air Canada, Asiana, ANA
Chase Sapphire: redeem for American Airlines (via British Airways), United (and United partners)

So, it seems like the best option is to go with the Chase Sapphire?
