Can't search for three letters so sorry if this has been asked.
Will ORC also get me original PQM and PQD?
a little more details:
Was flying PHL-SFO-SYD (in W (with GPU to R on SFO-SYD)) but due to IRROPS in SFO, the UA Club agent proactively offered to reroute me PHL-LAX-SYD, first leg on US. INVOL is marked. E-tkt number changed. PHL-LAX (on US) was Y, LAX-SYD was ZN. Although when I look at the receipt for new E-tkt number, it has fare basis starting with W and Flown as Y and Z. The fare calculation looks the same as the orig.
Now if I recall, ZN is an award J seat so I wouldn't get any credit. If they treat it as a Z fare, and I get 1.5X, even with 0 from US, I'd get 11232mi, where my OR would only be 9938mi. I have no idea how the breakdown for PQD works since it just lists one dollar amount for PHL-SFO-SYD and doesnt break it up. Plus I dont know how the YQ would split out. But even if I subtract off the entire PHL-SYD and the entire YQ amount, I've got enough for 1K next year PQD wise so I guess it doesnt matter. The miles is what I'm close on. I guess I'll just see what happens in 3 days
more off topic:
This was a very helpful agent. I overheard her mention my name on the phone while I was in the PHL UA club comparing UA showing my flight 30min delayed and FlightAware showing my flight 3.5hrs delayed and checking alternate routes and R availability. I went over and inquired and she was already working on rerouting me. Not sure how they got me the LAX-SYD J seat. I checked and there was no R 10min earlier. She said she didn't know how it works and saw one open seat. Made a call to confirm I can preserve my J seat and was told yes so I told her to pull the trigger. When she finished, she wasnt able to check me in on US so she made calls and sent me over to their desk but left me with her number. US said that I don't meet LAX MCT (eventhough 75min seems like enough) so I can't check in. Asked if she could call the UA agent and was told "no, use your phone, she's your agent not ours". Called the UA agent but got someone else. The one that did the change for me had gone to a gate. Then it was pulling teeth to try to get her to talk to the UA agent. US agent said the only way was to drop my intl segment. Decided to "HUACA" in a sense and went over to my US gate but the had the same issue and told me to go back over to the cust service desk. I walked away but then the UA agent actually called me back (first for me), and said she was going to try putting me on the next day's flight as well or something and asked me to stay on the line. Right at this minute, the gate other gate agent waved me over, asked me to verify my emergency contact and citizenship then was able to print me a BP. The UA agent noticed I was already checked in and was glad everything worked out. Its amazing the kind of service you can get when you're near the top (in the club) versus when you're at the bottom (US customer service). I was nearly delayed 24hrs because two agents didn't go one step further to review my reservation.
Now maybe they had a point with the MCT because my bag didn't make it. They had 57min from gate arrival to pushback. I was able to walk over in 10min. Actually, I think I went too fast as I boarded immediately, but then we ended up waiting 20min for late connecting pax. They ended up dropping several J customers then upgraded a bunch. If I boarded later, I might have been able to get a GA to move me from the middle section to a better seat, but once you're boarded, its too late and the upgraded pax got it. I guess I shouldnt complain since I'm pretty sure that they shouldn't have been able to confirm my J seat and should have actually just gone on the waitlist vs whatever actually happened putting me in ZN.
Sorry for all the rambling, but I thought there was an interesting story attached to my question.
