Also, they have the 772 on that route in February so don't expect too much from the hard product as the 2-3-2 configuration is a lot less than ideal and way behind the 77W which may work in your favor as some may consider it wasteful to spend a SWU on the old J cabin and those actually paying for J may prefer to fly BA.
Although being February, there will be people using up a SWU that would otherwise expire.
Either way, hopefully you are EXP and your early spot on the list should make it very likely you will clear, just don't expect it to be any time soon.
I got mine on LHR-LAX last week 4 days out and it was not wide open. Other way was disaster 1 seat available at gate and 31 requests, I was about half way down as late booking.
(To your aside, I cannot agree on cramped BA Club World being preferable to NGBC. Even when they were new and not covered in duct tape, they were cramped for tall pax and claustrophobic but I guess personal taste.)
