Maybe we shouldn't correct news media when they post something like the NYTimes article. The more people who think that chip == PIN, the more people who will be very unhappy with their banks when October rolls around. Now whether there'll be an easy to access product that'll have PIN priority by then is a different story; the only one that I considered to be fairly easy to access was Diners Club and their apps are currently suspended.
