Fundamentally, my level of technical explanation of the make up of something I know little about, was and would always be, limited. I once emailed and asked if I could take transmission fluid, was told yes, and that was it. I never once thought to ask as to whether chemically it may breach another rule, which I am assuming in that instance it didn't.

In asking such questions as I did, I always would merely rely on BA. However, I do understand the point, being that equally how would "Benjamin" know? But surely the BA rep has some recourse to find out whether a technicality would have such a dramatic effect on the answer. If "Benjamin" failed to answer appropriately, then surely BA has to accept their vicarious responsibility.
