OK, I saw the smiley on the quote, but, yes, feel free to keep the thread open indefinitely. It is quite ridiculous for UA, at this stage, to have so many 737-900's rolled out, and be using them on fairy long routes (5hr+) leaving the pax in sever sensory deprivation.

Case in point, fool that I was, I paid $3800 for a round trip F ticket SFO-KOA over the Thanksgiving weekend. Had my wife, too, who ponied 180K mi for her standard F award. Had a good time on the Big Island.

The plane was the same, both ways. They turned around the same 737-900 after it got to Kona at 1PM, fueled it up, and sent it back to SFO. Same plane, no question.

More pax than I grumbled about the lack of IFE after paying an F fare. I wrote Smisek about this one. Enough is enough.

I'm keeping my expectations down, though, and walking with my feet. Hell on AS, I can go from SJC-KOA on a 737, too, and have decent IFE, decent food, and certainly decent service. I know, I've taken it.

The RT fare on AS (SFO-KOA in F)---about $1501. I don't believe the $1501 RT fare is fully refundable, and there may not be service every day. But it gives one incentive to consider AS over UA when going from the Bay Area to KOA.
