My mom and dad did CMB-PVG yesterday on UL. They bought economy tix for around $350 each and bid the minimum for upgrade (I think they said $350) and were accepted. I recall that when they booked, the one way in business class on UL was around $1400, so doing the upgrade process they flew J for half price. There were one stop business class flights for around $700, but all long connections and inferior products. Getting the nonstop in business, with new UL product for this price is a decent deal for a nearly 7 hour flight.
