Funny, I'm the opposite. I consider planes without Wi-Fi to be practically dark; Wi-Fi is many orders of magnitude more interesting and useful to me than AVOD. I don't really care too much if there is or is not AVOD.

I completely agree here. I would much rather use wifi than watch daytime soaps or judge judy (I am usually in the air during the day). I have watched a few of the movies shown, but mostly just to see if I would like it, and I try to avoid editted movies anyway.
1) I consider any UA plane without Channel 9 to be dark. Too bad that is way too many of them now.
2) I do agree that I prefer having wifi over TV/AVOD, but only if said wifi is reliable. Flying 739s to Hawaii doesn't qualify. Neither does the fact that the 737 wifi system, while fast when operational, has been incredibly unreliable.
