I thought I'd create a separate thread in the meantime before its merged into the
The British Airways app [New version for iPhone & Android, launched 21 May] thread because I've not seen it anywhere else on the forum about new updates next month to BA smartphone products.
Key points:
- New upgrade to iOS and Android app will allow customers to book flights using Avios points - this is assumed reward flights - based on the new digital Executive Club membership card features.
- A new, cleaner, in-app system to upgrade flights in cash (previously: clicking on a MMB upgrade offer only to be taken to a web browser)
- Blue BAEC members will no longer get the plastic blue card. Remains available to Bronze, Silver and Gold members.
NEW digital Executive Club cards for smartphones to see:
- A graphic of how far until the next tier level (or how TP to retain status)
- A reminder of minimum BA flights to take
- Lifetime tier points visible (on top of current overall and household balance, TP collection year end and card expiry dates)
- The card will be available in iOS Passbook or an Android download
